The £75,000 refurbishment of the Music Room is now complete and winning strong approval from hotel guests. Specialist suppliers were used for the makeover to source fabrics and wall coverings based on original Victorian designs.
The Music Room has always been a popular wedding venue but its beauty and uniqueness makes it an equally suitable location for other functions such as anniversaries, birthdays, barmitzvahs, retirement parties and corporate events.

The Grim's Dyke will shortly be welcoming its first coach parties following a decision to widen the entrance of the driveway which until now has been too narrow to accommodate coaches.
The hotel has wanted to attract coach tour business for a long time but the restricted access to the driveway has made it previously impossible.
The move has proved popular with tour operators, coach companies, travel agents and overseas Gilbert & Sullivan Societies and is expected to lead to a significant rise in visitor numbers, especially during the summer months.
There is much for coach party visitors to see and enjoy including the house itself, the magnificent gardens and grounds, Murder Mystery Evenings, Gourmet Dinners, Live Entertainment Events, the twice-monthly G & S Opera Evenings and the May Garden Party.
Grim's Dyke Hotel hosted Froglife's first New Year Raffle Draw with the draw being conducted by the Grim's Dyke Opera Companies Andrew Whittaker.
We had two winners there on the night who were able to claim their prizes there and then. The remaining winners were notified on the Monday after the draw by Froglife to give them a bit of good news to start the year.
The Froglife Trust is a charity dedicated to conserving the UK's amphibians- frogs, toads, newts, snakes and lizards - and the habitats on which they depend. Froglife has been at the heart of efforts to conserve these wonderful species since 1989, with the charities work falling into three strands: on the ground conservation, environmental education and communication (the provision of advice and information through our web resources).
Froglife would like to say a big thank you to the fantastic organisations that donated prizes for our New Years Eve Raffle held at the Grim's Dyke Hotel as well as all of our friends and supporter that brought tickets.
The brilliant prizes donated by the Grim's Dyke Hotel, London Duck Tours, Hampton Court Palace, London Zoo, Kew Gardens and The Harrow Arts Centre and your generous uptake of tickets allowed us to raise £738 through raffle ticket sales.
The raffle raised £738 that will go towards our core funds which work to continue to provide these services to our communities such as the work undertaken to restore parts of the historic Gilberts Lake, back into wildlife ponds to help the protected Great Crested Newt.
If you are interested in finding out more about the charity or are interested in volunteering to help our wonderful amphibians and Reptiles please visit www.froglife.org and www.froglife.org/getinvolved/index.htm

A treat is in store for opera lovers on March 22nd when The Covent Garden Singers will perform a charity gala concert in the Grim's Dyke hotel's lavishly refurbished Music Room where the house's illustrious former owner WS Gilbert used to work and entertain his friends.
Proceeds from the evening will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Action, the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity which is dedicated to improving survival rates for women with the disease.
March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and one of The Covent Garden Singers has close ties with the charity.
The Singers are an ad hoc group of twelve performers who will be accompanied by their musical director and pianist Christopher Willis. They all have strong connections with the Royal Opera House where the majority are currently members of the Chorus.
The evening will commence with a welcoming drinks reception at 7.30 which will be followed by a three course meal prepared in the hotel's award-winning kitchens.
The music will be performed as interludes between courses and will include popular operatic choruses such as the Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana, the Chorus of Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco and a chamber version of the Triumphal Scene from Aida.
The Singers will also perform their own medley of British Sea Songs inspired by Henry Wood's Fantasy, a favourite at the Last Night Of The Proms, and of course ... some Gilbert & Sullivan!
Tickets are priced at £45 each and can be purchased from Kathleen Summers on 07736 961627 or cnkwillis@gmail.com
